ORLANDO - On Wednesday, Orlando Predators fullback James Lynch spoke to second grade students at Bay Meadows Elementary School about the importance of education as a way to achieve career goals. Lynch, a graduate of the University of Maryland, stressed to students the role of reading as they move forward in life along with the need to avoid drugs and alcohol as they get older. The four-year Arena Football League veteran appeared at Bay Meadows Elementary on behalf of the Predators as a guest speaker for the school's annual career day.
"Career Day is a tradition in American education that allows children to receive advice from qualified role models and we totally support that effort," said Keith Recine, Orlando Predators Director of Game Day Operations. "Letting children know that you must work hard and achieve success in education to be a successful person is the type of message we want get across, and it allows us to reach into the community and be a part of their lives off the football field."
The Orlando Predators will continue its commitment to the community throughout the offseason. Contact the Preds at 407-648-4444 to inquire about appearances at schools or public events.
