Release - Storm Announce Kickoff Times; Two Games Change Dates
November 16, 2011 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Tampa Bay Storm News Release
Tampa Bay - Tampa Bay Storm has announced the kickoff times for its 2012 schedule. The team will host nine games at home with start times of 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM respectively. Additionally, two home games have changed dates.
Of the Storm's nine home games, seven will kick off at 7:30 PM with an additional two games, nationally televised on the NFL Network, kick off at 8:00 PM. The two 8:00 PM kickoffs at home occur Friday, March 16 and Monday, April 30. Five games will kick off on Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM. There will also be two games that will kick off on Friday evenings at 7:30 PM.
The dates of two home games have changed since the initial release in early October. The game against the Kansas City Command at the Times Forum was moved to Monday evening to accommodate the NFL Network and the game against the Milwaukee Mustangs was moved from Friday to Saturday in cooperation with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL.
"The two date changes were something we really contemplated," said Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch. "The Kansas City game gave us an opportunity to compete in front of a national audience on the NFL Network. This allows us the opportunity to expand our fans base and gain a wider berth of exposure for our players. As far as the Milwaukee game, the Lightning worked with us to provide an opportunity to give our fans a game on Saturday evening, we are thankful for the cooperation and ease in which we can work together with them."
