BLOOMINGTON - Brad Thompson scored the game winning goal with 1:42 remaining in the third period, and red-hot goalie Kris Tebbs stopped 25 of 27 shots as the Bloomington PrairieThunder beat Elmira, 3-2, Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd of 3,869 in the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Winning three in a row for the first time in franchise history, Bloomington saw its 2-0 lead vanish when Elmira's Glenn Detulleo tied the game at 2-2 with 4:40 left in the third period. The PrairieThunder came right back with Thompson's goal on assists from Tyler Rennette and Mark Phenow.

Bloomington jumped ahead on two goals early in the second period by rookie Mike Zbriger. Both goals were set up by long, picture perfect assisting passes from Greg Koehler.

Elmira's first goal came at the 7:34 mark of the second period from Marc Lefebvre with an assist from Detulleo.

PrairieThunder goalie Tebbs has been in net the past three games and has given up only four goals and has stopped 95 of 99 shots on goal over the three games. With 9:52 left in the third period, and with Bloomington leading 2-1, he stopped apenalty shot by Elmira's Bobby Kukulka.

Bloomington returns to action Thursday night hosting Kalamazoo at 7:05. The PrairieThunder ran its record to 21-38-4 with 46 points. Elmira is 27-37-1 with 55 points
