BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder coach Jarrod Skalde announced the signing of 20-year-old rookie Mike Kusy to an International Hockey League contract Friday.
Kusy (pronounced KOO-see) was the leading scorer on the Niagara Falls (Ont.) Canucks in the Golden Horseshoe Junior B League with 58 points on 23 goals and 35 assists in 35 games. He had 55 minutes in penalties.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Kusy had 11 power play goals and 12 power play assists, along with four game-winning goals. He is a native of St. Catharines (Ontario) and will wear No. 16 for the PrairieThunder.
