Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
Rod Aldoff had assists on all three Chicago goals Saturday night as the Hounds defeated the Bloomington PrairieThunder, 3-2, at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.
Aldoff's first assists came on a goal by Steve Cygan on a power play 3:20 into the game. Tom Zabkowicz also had an assist.
Bloomington's Shawn Roed didn't waste any time in scoring his first goal as a PrairieThunder, finding the net 13 seconds later to tie the game. The assists went to Brian Payant and Trevor Baker, who returned to the ice for the first time since Oct. 21.
Baker, who has been out because of a sports hernia surgery, joined captain Tyler Rennette in the lineup for the first time since the fourth game of the year.
The two most seasoned PrairieThunder players will be in the lineup today when Bloomington (8-21-2) meets Rockford at 4:05 p.m. in a home match at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The Hounds, who moved their record to 11-16-1, took the lead for good 14:34 into the second period on a goal by Greg Koehler. He was assisted by Aldoff and Matt Amado.
Chicago's other goal came from Maris Ziedins 8:59 into the third period off assists by Aldoff and Mike Kautz.
The PrairieThunder closed the gap to 3-2 on Jeff Cameron's goal with 7:57 remaining. He was assisted by Ryan Gillis. The PrairieThunder had a 33-28 advantage in shots on goal.
