You normally spend the holiday's with family and love ones, but their will be no love lost tonight as the Kalamazoo Wings face-off against their archrivals, the Fort Wayne Komets. The K-Wings lead the season series against Fort Wayne with a record of 2-1-0; however, Kalamazoo lost in their only appearance of the season in Fort Wayne.
Tonight is the last road contest of 2006 for the K-Wings. With a 2-1-0 record on current four-game road trip, this game will decide whether this stretch is a success or not. Kalamazoo enters the game with a road record of 10-5-0, and is one of just two teams in the league that can say they have double-digit road victories.
Fort Wayne has found ways to win on their home ice. On the season, the Komets are an impressive 11-3-0 at Memorial Coliseum, which includes a 2-1 victory over Kalamazoo back on December 15th. The Komets are looking to create some space in the Western Conference. This evening is a big game for Fort Wayne, as look to make up some ground on the four-point lead the K-Wings have on them for second place in the UHL.

Defenseman Joe Markusen recorded his first game-winning goal of the season last night against Flint. Markusen, who has a plus/minus rating of +10 in his last 10 games, also leads the K-Wings in that category with a +11 for the season.
Heating Up
Forward Kory Karlander has registered a point in each of his last three games. Besides the three game point streak, Karlander leads the team in scoring with 31 points.
Road Warriors
Kalamazoo finishes off their four-game road trip tonight in Fort Wayne. The K-Wings are 2-1-0 on the current swing and 10-5-0 on the season away from Wings Stadium, making them only one of two teams (Muskegon) with double digit victories on the road.
Seventh Heaven
Forward Lucas Drake enters tonight's game looking to extend a seven-game point streak. The seven-game streak is a season high for the K-Wings
