Pozuelo Named to MLS Team of the Week

Inter Miami CF attacking midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo has been named to the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi for Week 25 of the 2022 MLS regular season. Pozuelo, who joined the club as a Designated Player this summer, was selected for the Team of the Week following a standout performance over the weekend, scoring a brace against New York City FC on at DRV PNK Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The Spaniard recorded his first goals for Inter Miami with a pair of precise finishes, along with a secondary assist for the team's second goal of the night, to propel the

Herons to a critical 3-2 victory. Pozuelo, the 2020 Landon Donovan MLS MVP, finished with an 86% pass rate and two key passes. He also converted each of his shots on target, and brought his record against NYCFC to nine goals and five assists in 12 games against the Northeastern outfit.

Pozuelo becomes the tenth Inter Miami player to be featured in the Team of the Week this season. The club has now had a representative, either player or coach, in the Team of the Week in 13 different weeks of the 2022 MLS regular season.
