
Power Holds off Hard Charging Moncton Miracles 102 - 100

OSHAWA, ON) Durham's team the Oshawa Power held off a determined Moncton Miracles team 102 - 100 and put an end to their small losing skid. The Power got off to their best start of the season opening up a huge lead and finished the first quarter with a 31 - 17 lead. The Miracles fought back and even took the lead heading into the third quarter, but a 21 - 3 run for the Power to start the fourth period gave Durham's team the momentum they needed to get the victory.
Local Durham Region star Papa Oppong led the way for the Power dropping a team-high 21 points and 7 rebounds. Mark Gomillia and Larry Diamond added 20 and 18 points respectively.
Devin Sweetney led the way for the Miracles with a game-high 31 points. Oliver McNally added 19 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds. The Power will now head on the road to London to take on their 401 rivals the London Lightning on Saturday January 12, 2013 with tip off set for 7:00 p.m.
