Mississauga Power News Release
(Windsor, ON - ) The Mississauga Power traveled to Windsor tonight to take on the Express. The Power are off to a strong start this season and are looking to improve to 4-0. A late third quarter comeback was not enough, as the Power trailed the entire game and fell 116-95 in Windsor. Jaushay Rockett led the Power with a spectacular 27 points, 14 rebound performance. Chris Commons paced the Express with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
The Express got off to a quick start, scoring seven straight points to begin the game before the Power were able to get on the board. The Power looked sluggish in the first but managed to cut into the Express lead to just four, trailing 21-17 at the end of one quarter.
The Express continued to roll and played well on both ends of the floor in the second. The Power struggled to find their rhythm and were unable to produce many points in the second. The Power trailed 50-31 at halftime.
The Power came out of halftime looking renewed and with a strong sense of urgency. The team would knock down five three pointers in the third. The Power also managed to consistently find big man Paul Cooper, who gave the team a much needed interior presence. The Power sliced the Express lead to ten heading into the final quarter, 78-68.
The Power looked to complete the comeback in the fourth but it was not meant to be. After cutting the Express lead down to 8, Windsor would regain control and build back up a lead to take the 116-95 victory.
The Power return to the Hershey Centre tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm to take on the London Lightning. Tickets are available at: http://tinyurl.com/osx8jud
