London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, Ontario) - The London Lightning is excited to announce the return of point guard, Adrian Moss.
"We are excited to have Adrian join our organization once again," said Head Coach Carlos Knox. "He will provide a great sense of leadership from the point guard position and will be a tremendous addition to our team."
Former point guard, Stephen McDowell, has been released. The Lightning wish him the best in his future endeavours.
Moss was a part of the franchise for the 2012-2013 season when the team won its second NBL of Canada Championship. Last season, Moss played with the Island Storm where he averaged 11 points, six assists and five rebounds per game.
"The London Lightning have a first class reputation in the basketball community: the city, the fans and the ownership have always shown great compassion to my family and I. This is really where I want to be", said Moss.
Veteran Elvin Mims has been placed on injured reserve due to a sore knee. Fellow University of Southern Mississippi alumni, Jonathan Mills has been activated in his place. Mills is a tough 6'5" forward from Chicago who averaged nine points and eight rebounds per game.
Moss and Mills will be in action at Budweiser Gardens tonight when the Lightning play the Island Storm at 7:00 p.m. It is the Lightning's annual "Shine the Light on Woman Abuse Game" game. The team will be in custom purple jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game with all proceeds going to the London Abused Women's Centre. Fans are encouraged to wear purple to show their support.
