
Potomac rushes to game two win

Salem, VA-The Salem Avalanche, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Houston Astros, saw the Potomac Nationals score 10 straight runs Saturday night on Lewis-Gale Medical Center Field at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium in a 10-1 win over the Avs. Potomac (26-15) has scored in double figures in both games of the series against Salem (16-24).
The two starters, Polin Trinidad and Joe Norrito each weaved three scoreless to open the game. In the fourth, Edgardo Baez doubled to score Marvin Lowrance and make a 1-0 lead.
Then, with two down in the fifth, Matt Rogelstad doubled to left. Next, Chris Marrero singled to center to score Rogelstad. The following batter, Marvin Lowrance singled. Immediately after, Frank Diaz's single brought Lowrance across for a 4-zip lead. The next two batters, Edgardo Baez and Dee Brown each doubled to bump the score to 6-0.
Potomac got four more in a similar eighth inning. With the bases loaded and two out, Frank Diaz singled a run home against reliever Bryan Hallberg. Then, Edgardo Baez posted a three-run double for the 10-0 advantage.
Salem's lone run came across in the home half as Orlando Rosales doubled Koby Clemens home for the 10-1 final.
The Avs and Nationals finish the series at 2:07 PM Sunday as Salem's Casey Hudspeth faces Potomac's Jhonny Nunez.
