WOODBRIDGE, Va. - With American Idol dominating the airwaves for the seventh consecutive season, the Potomac Nationals are looking to capitalize on the show's continued popularity by holding a talent search of their own with their National Anthem tryouts Saturday, March 21, at Potomac Mills Mall. The P-Nats are looking for talented singers/musicians to sing the Star Spangled Banner for each of their 70 home games.

"We are so excited to once again collaborate with the Potomac Nationals to provide a venue for their National Anthem Try-outs" said Caroline Barry Green, Director of Mall Marketing and Business Development for Potomac Mills. "This has become an annual community event at Potomac Mills, and always attracts a huge crowd. Given the common denominator in our names, one could say that this partnership is a true manifestation of a "Potomac partnership!"

Try-outs will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Grand Court area of Potomac Mills Mall. In order to perform a vocal audition, you must be able to sing without accompaniment. Audition slots are limited to the first 100 people who sign up and will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Contestants are able to pre-register now with the Potomac Nationals by calling 703-590-2311 ext. 210 or emailing Andrew Stinson at astinson@potomacnationals.com. They are also able to sign up the day of the event, starting at 10:30, space permitting. The event is open to all ages and everyone is encouraged to attend.

"We're really looking forward to another great turnout like we've had in past years" said Andrew Stinson, Group Sales Account Executive of the Potomac Nationals. "Although I'm ready to step up and get behind the microphone if need be, we're hoping to find some untapped talent from the Woodbridge area."

Season tickets and ticket packages for the 2009 season are on sale now. The Potomac Nationals offer a variety of different ticket packages ranging from "The Weekender" - a 34-game package featuring all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games along with Opening Day and Labor Day - to six-game packages.
