PEARL, MS -- Tickets for all possible 2014 Southern League playoff games are on sale now at the Trustmark Park Box Office. With a one-game lead over the Jacksonville Suns, the Braves face a crucial final five games in the second half title race. If the Mississippi Braves make the playoffs, they will host a minimum of one game and a maximum of six games at Trustmark Park.
Ticket prices for post season games are as follows: Club Level, $20; Home Plate Level, $15; Dugout Level, $12; Field Level, $8; and General Admission/Berm seating, $6. Fans may call 888-BRAVES4, visit mississippibraves.com or stop by the Trustmark Park Box Office Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to purchase their tickets.
The Southern League Divisional Series and the Southern League Championship Series are both best-of-five-game series. The Mobile BayBears, first half division winner, will host the first two games for the South Division September 4 and 5 at Hank Aaron Stadium. Game three of the series would be Saturday, September 6 at Trustmark Park. The location for games four and five (if necessary) depends on the second half's outcome.
The winner of the South Divisional Series will face the winner of the North Divisional Series to determine the 2014 Southern League Championship. The M-Braves appeared in the Southern League playoffs last season, marking the third playoff appearance in the team's history. Last season was the first M-Braves playoff appearance since the Double-A Braves claimed the 2008 Southern League Championship. Mississippi also appeared in the 2007 South Divisional Series.
Mississippi takes a day off today, Wednesday, to travel to Hunstville for the final five games of the regular season. Mobile travels to Jacksonville for a crucial five games that the Braves will keep a close eye on. The M-Braves are currently 80-54 on the season, posting the best record in team history and the best record for a Double-A Braves club since the 1992 Greenville Braves went 100-43.
The Mississippi Braves baseball team is the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Since making the move from Greenville, SC, in 2005, over 85 M-Braves have gone on to play in the big leagues. The M-Braves have made postseason play three times and went on to win the Southern League Championship in 2008. Tickets are on sale now.
