Hawks Happenings On The Ice:

On Friday before the game against Everett the Winterhawks will be inducting former player and coach Brent Peterson into the franchise's Hall of Fame. Fans will want to make sure they're in their seats by 6:45 for the festivities. Peterson was the Winterhawks' original captain in 1976, and after an 11-year playing career in the NHL returned as a coach, and led the team to the 1998 Memorial Cup.

In addition the radio broadcasts on Freedom 970 and winterhawks.com, Friday's game against the Everett Silvertips will be broadcast live on ROOT Sports, the first of two televised games on the network this season. The second game will be Feb. 24 when the Hawks host Spokane. Friday's game will also see the Hawks attempting to extend the team record home winning streak to 19 games.

Derrick Pouliot is in Kelowna, British Columbia this week, as he will be playing in Wednesday's Canadian Hockey League Top Prospects Game, an annual showcase game featuring the Top-40 NHL Draft prospects. Pouliot will be suiting up for Team Cherry under Head Coach Mark Recchi, a three-time Stanley Cup champion. Pouliot has seven goals and 29 assists for 36 points in 50 games this season, and was ranked 10th among North Americans skaters in the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's Midterm Rankings earlier this month.
