Portland Reign names home court, announces sponsor

Portland, Or. The ABA Portland Reign today announced the Oregon Convention Center as its home court as well as its partnership with Pepsi Cola as the primary sponsor of the team. The partnership gives Pepsi the naming rights to the Oregon Convention Center's 61,000 sq. ft exhibit hall where the Reign will play its home games. Pepsi Palace will be unveiled at an October 5th press conference at the Center.
Reign Founder Mary Liss said, "The choice to play in the Oregon Convention Center was attractive because it gives us the opportunity to build our own arena and call the exhibit hall or home. Fans will be amazed when they enter the hall, which will be turned into a basketball arena seating more than 3000 fans."
"We are also thrilled to partner with Pepsi Cola," Liss continued. "Pepsi Palace will be the home of affordable family fun this fall and winter and we hope everyone will check it out." A local Pepsi representative added, "We are very excited about the opportunity to bring the ABA to life in the Portland market through the Reign and support our partnership with the Oregon Convention Center."
Matt Pizzuti, the Center's Director of Sales and Marketing said, "This is a great opportunity to showcase another unique advantage of this great facility. We are very excited to make this venue a real home court advantage for the Portland Reign."
OCC Executive Director Jeff Blosser added, "The Oregon Convention Center is proud to be the home of the Portland Reign and anticipates a very fun and successful season. The venue's location, with easy access by car or public transit, will enhance the fans' whole experience from start to finish. We are looking forward to some great basketball."
