The Pirates will look to extend their four game winning streak and improve on their 26-25-3-5 record in four games this week.
Wednesday, March 9 @ Worcester 7:05 p.m.
Trent Whitfield has two goals and five assists in seven games this season against the IceCats.
On Thursday, local artist Greg Sturniolo will unveil his original art and limited edition poster series on the sport of hockey at the Jameson Gallery at 305 Commercial Street in Portland from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Friday, March 11 @ Providence 7:05 p.m.
Brian Willsie has eight points (5 goals, 3 assists) including a hat trick, in seven games against the baby B's this season .
NEXT HOME GAME: Saturday, March 12 vs. Philadelphia 2:05 p.m. The Pirates have won six games in a row at the Cumberland County Civic Center and are closing in on the franchise record of eight consecutive home victories.
Sunday, March 13 vs. Hartford 4:05 p.m.
Pirates goaltender Kirk Daubenspeck posts a 1.38 GAA and a .959 SV% coming into this week's games.
UPCOMING PROMOTIONS
Gritty's and the Portland Pirates have joined with Hannaford to present the "Power Play" promotion. Sign up at any Hannaford Supermarket in the greater Portland area for a chance to win one of three terrific prize packs. The contest winners will be announced on Friday, March 11th and Tuesday, March 22nd on the morning show with the Captain and Mark on WBLM 102.9FM.
This week, listen to 99.9FM "The Wolf" during the morning show with Dave and Michelle and during the afternoon drive with Amy Ryan for the "Ceiling Fans" promotion. The station will be giving out tickets to the Pirates game on March 12th versus the Philadelphia Phantoms.
Saturday, March 12th vs. Philadelphia 2:05 p.m. - Maine Credit Union League Team Photo Day. All fans will receive an official 2004-05 Pirates team photo courtesy of the Maine Credit Union League.
Saturday, March 26th vs. Manchester 7:05 p.m. - Hall of Fame Night presented by Bank of America. The Pirates will honor their 8th inductee, Ryan Mulhern into the Portland Pirates Hall of Fame.
Friday, April 8th vs. Manchester 7:05 p.m. - $10,000 Dash for Cash Night sponsored by 102.9FM WBLM. In the first intermission, WBLM will sponsor a $10,000 Dash for Cash.

The 8th Annual "Evening with the Pirates" presented by Key Bank will take place on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Stadium Restaurant and Sports Bar. This year's event will support the Pirates new exhibit at the Children's Museum of Maine opening next spring.
The Pirates want your help to name the ship! Families and kids can submit suggestions online at www.portlandpirates.com, as well as at the Children's Museum and their website www.kitetails.com. Each person who submits an entry will receive two free tickets to an upcoming Pirates home game and be entered to win the grand prize- a 2004-05 team autographed Pirates jersey and take part in the christening ceremony on April 22, 2005. Entries are limited to one per person and the contest concludes on March 31, 2005.
The next Pirates road trip is to Manchester on March 25th.
The Pirates have joined with local artist and avid hockey fan Greg Sturniolo to introduce a unique series of five original works of art with a closed edition of prints depicting the sport of hockey. The original art and prints will be unveiled to the public for the first time at a public opening at the Jameson Gallery on 305 Commercial Street on Thursday, March 10th from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A percentage of the proceeds from the opening will be donated to the Portland Pirates Foundation. The event is free and open to the public.
IN THE COMMUNITY
On Wednesday, March 2nd, Pirates players Steve Eminger and Shaone Morrisonn participated in "Read Across America Day" at the Fairfield School in Saco, ME.
Tomorrow, catch the Pirates Head Coach Tim Army on WJAB at 8:00 a.m. on the "The Morning Jab" on WJAB 95.5FM and 1440AM. Louis Robitaille will be on WBLM 102.9FM this Friday at 8:00 a.m. with the Captain and Mark.
Tomorrow, listen to 102.9 FM WBLM at 8:00 a.m. to hear Nolan Yonkman and Louis Robitaille talk about their excitement surrounding the 8th Annual Evening with the Pirates.
On Friday March 4th, Pirates players painted pottery at Portland Pottery on 118 Washington Street in Portland. The pottery will be auctioned off at the 8th Annual Evening with the Pirates to raise funds for the Pirates new exhibit at the Children's Museum of Maine opening this spring.

On Thursday, March 10th, the Pirates players Graham Mink and Jason Ulmer will present the Pirates "Goals for Success" program at Manchester School in Windham from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The program is sponsored by Healthy Maine Partnerships and Pepsi.
Also on Thursday, March 10th, Pirates players, Boyd Gordon and Jakub Klepis will be guest bartenders at David's Restaurant in Portland from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, hear Tim Army's wife, Sue Army at 7:52 a.m. and 5:35 p.m. on WMGX 93.1FM and WPOR 101.9FM.
LAST WEEK
The Pirates were a perfect 2-0 last week with back to back wins over Worcester. Portland continues to climb up the Atlantic Division standings.

Brian Willsie scored the game-winning goal to give the Pirates their fourth consecutive win and sixth in a row at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
