BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Port Huron scored at least one goal in each period Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum to post a 4-1 International Hockey League victory over the Bloomington PrairieThunder before 2,896 people.
The loss dropped the PrairieThunder record to 14-13-2-3 (33 points) ahead of Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. game at Dayton.
Daniel Tetrault gave Port Huron a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game on a power play goal with assists to Tab Lardner and Andy Russo. The IceHawks were successful on 3 of 6 power plays in the game.
Bloomington tied the game two minutes later on a Bill Bagron goal with assists to Jon Booras and Jason Lepine. Jason Selleke put Port Huron ahead for good six minutes into the second period on a power play goal with assists to Nick Lindburg and Lardner.
The IceHawks added their final two goals in the third period by Derek Patrosso on a power play and an empty-net effort by Peter Rouleau.
Bloomington owned a 38-27 advantage on shots. Andrew Martin was the losing goalie, while Andy Russo was the winning goalie.
