Port Huron Prowlers News Release
The Port Huron Prowlers continued their winning ways Friday night in Danville Illinois against the Dashers.
The Prowlers took to the scoreboard early off of the stick of Dalton Jay on a rebound shot to make the score 1-0 five minutes into the first period. The score would stay that way for the remainder of the period.
The second period was full of penalties with the Dashers taking 3 power plays and the Prowlers with 2 of their own. The Dashers cashed in on one of them when a shot bounce off of the Port Huron net minder and then off of the leg of Justin Brausen to tie the game at 1-1. Brandon Parkhouse only needed a minute and a half to put the Prowlers back up by 2 goals when he scored twice in 30 seconds on breakaways. The period would end with a score of 3-1.
The Dashers would give it their all in the third period. A pair of late penalties by Edgar Ozolins gave the Dashers the opening they needed for a comeback. Justin Brausen would take advantage yet again of the power play to make the score 3-2. The Prowlers would win a crucial face-off with 29 seconds remaining to keep the puck away from the Dashers to keep the score 3-2 and take home the victory.
Both teams will play again tomorrow night at the David S. Palmer arena at 7:00 pm CST.
