Victoria Generals News Release

The Victoria Generals pitching staff claimed its second straight Texas Collegiate League Pitcher of the Week honor as Dallas Ponder received the award for week two of the regular season.

Ponder, a right-hander from Texas A&M University - Kingsville, put together a dominant performance out of the bullpen on June 15 to shut down the Alexandria Aces. The Flatonia native was called upon in the fifth inning of a tie game and proceeded to finish out the contest, tossing 4.2 shutout innings and registering 10 of his 14 outs by strikeout. Ponder allowed just one hit and did not allow a single walk to earn the win in his first appearance of the season.

Generals pitcher Jordan Pacheco received the Pitcher of the Week honor for the first week of the season.

The Generals take on the Woodlands Strykers tonight at 7:05pm at Riverside Stadium in Victoria. Tonight is Free Ticket Tuesday presented by Caterpillar. All fans will get in for free at the gate to tonight's game thanks to Caterpillar.
