
Pond optioned to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse SkyChiefs announced today that the Toronto Blue Jays have optioned infielder Simon Pond to Syracuse and purchased the contract of outfielder Chad Hermansen. Also, Right-handed Pitcher Sean Douglass has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Syracuse. To replace him on the Blue Jays roster the Blue Jays recalled Right-handed pitcher Jason Frasor.
Pond, the SkyChiefs MVP in 2003, appeared in two games for the Blue Jays this season, striking out in all three of his at-bats.
Hermansen was leading the SkyChiefs with a .368 batting average, two homeruns and six RBI's.
Douglass appeared in two games for the Blue Jays, after being claimed off waivers from the Minnesota Twins, pitching four scoreless innings.
Frasor, who was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Jayson Werth, appeared in three games for the SkyChiefs giving up one run in four innings of work.
