Long Beach Breakers News Release
Long Beach, CA. The Long Beach Breakers, an ABA expansion team that begins play in November, today named former NBA star Olden Polynice as the head coach. Polynice played 15 seasons in the NBA and was known as a great rebounder and tough interior player and ranks among the NBA's all-time leaders in offensive rebounds.
Carl Williams, team owner and general manager stated, "Olden brings a wealth of knowledge to the ABA and the Long Beach Breakers and we consider ourselves fortunate to have him as part of our organization. The teams in our division know the type of ball he plays - tough defense, strong on the boards, physical. We will be competitive."
