Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (November 5, 2015) - Forward Zach Pochiro has been reassigned from the Quad City Mallards to the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves by the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues, the Mallards announced today.

Pochiro, 21, scored three goals and picked up four assists in seven games after being reassigned to the Mallards on October 20. The 6' 2", 170-pound Las Vegas native is tied for the Mallard team lead in points (7).

Pochiro started last season with the Alaska Aces before returning to the junior ranks with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League last November. Last year Pochiro scored 19 times and pocketed 23 assists for 42 points in 41 games with Prince George after notching a pair of assists in eight games with Alaska.

Pochiro made his professional debut at the end of the 2013-14 season with the Kalamazoo Wings. He had two assists in eight games with the Wings after setting junior career highs in goals (27), assists (39) and points (66) in 63 games for the Cougars during that campaign. Pochiro piled up 61 goals, 61 assists and 122 points in 179 career WHL games.

The Mallards return to action on home ice tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. against the Wichita Thunder. With the arrival of "Movember", the Mallards join the campaign for men's health: the first 1,000 fans through the doors for tomorrow night's game will receive free (fake) mustaches. Tomorrow evening is the Mallards' second $1 Beer/$1 Dog Night presented by 97X. Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 beers at all Mallards Friday night home games.
