October 29, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Louisville City FC News Release
Louisville City FC opens its 2022 USL Championship Playoffs run at 7:30 p.m. Saturday when hosting Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in an Eastern Conference Semifinal at Lynn Family Stadium.
The boys in purple - the East's No. 1 seed - last played Oct. 15 in their regular season finale, earning a bye through the conference quarterfinal round. Fifth-seeded Pittsbrugh defeated Birmingham Legion FC last Sunday on penalty kicks to advance to this point.
This marks the third time in four years LouCity and the Riverhounds have met in the postseason, seeing one another in the 2019 conference final and 2020 conference quarterfinals - both wins for the boys in purple.
With another victory Saturday, LouCity hosts the Eastern Conference Final on Saturday, Nov. 5, against either No. 2 seed Memphis 901 FC or the No. 3 seeded Tampa Bay Rowdies. Tickets would go on sale immediately at LouCity.com/playoffs.
City is looking to extend its league-record run of conference final appearances to eight straight - every year since the club launched in 2015.
The game will air live locally on WBKI/The CW and ESPN Louisville's 680/105.7. USL Championship games also stream live on ESPN+.
