Players Lend Habitat a Helping Hand

ODESSA, TX. The Odessa Roughnecks will be volunteering their time and effort this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM to help work on project "Blitz Build" with Habitat for Humanity at 301 Lauderdale. Starbucks Coffee Company will be providing the early morning refreshments.
"This is a great opportunity for us to help an amazing organization in Habitat, and get involved in a positive project for the community," said Odessa Starbucks store manager, Peter Knight.
The Roughnecks are also excited to be part of the project. "The support our team has received from the community has just been tremendous and this is a chance for the guys to give back and show the community how much they appreciate their support," said head coach, Chris Williams.
With habitat for Humanity building three houses at once for project Blitz Build, they are more than happy to be getting a few extra volunteers for the weekend.
Volunteers from the community are encouraged to come out and help participate in Saturday's event. "We couldn't build these houses for deserving families without the help of volunteers and are especially pleased with the Roughnecks for volunteering their time, but would also love for anyone willing to come out and help," said Habitat Executive Director, Donna Swinney.
The Odessa Roughnecks started the season with a victory against Beaumont, and will host its home opener April 23 against the Miami Morays at the Ector County Coliseum. For tickets call (432) 332-PASS (7277) or by log onto the team's website at www.RoughnecksNIFL.com.
