Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

The sheltered batting cages at Modern Woodmen Park are one of the many amenities that make the facility among the finest in all of Minor League Baseball. For the first time ever, the Quad Cities River Bandits are making the batting cages available for rent to the general public in an effort to allow local baseball players to train like the professionals.

We are always looking for ways to utilize Modern Woodmen Park on a year-round basis and ensure that the community is getting the most out of the facility, said team owner Dave Heller. This is a tremendous opportunity for local ballplayers of all ages to hone their craft in a professional setting with professional equipment. Whether you have a child playing little league or you are a young adult playing high school or college ball, our batting cages offer a premier location for training.

Modern Woodmen Park features two batting cages and all rentals include the use of a pitching machine, safety screens, a batting tee and baseballs. The area is sheltered so that rain or snow will never ruin your scheduled training sessions. Rentals are available at a rate of just $50 per hour for one cage or $90 per hour for both cages.

Those interested in booking practice time in one or both of the Modern Woodmen Park batting cages are encouraged to contact Ben Kratz at (563) 333-2746 or BenK@RiverBandits.com. Availability is flexible based on the renters schedule but all appointments must be made in advance.

If we can make Modern Woodmen Park more productive for this community then we are proud to do so, said Vice President and General Manager Kirk Goodman. It is a point of emphasis for us to make sure the Quad Cities River Bandits and Modern Woodmen Park are an integral part of this community, and we have had great feedback from all of the added high school and little league baseball games over the last few years. When people think of baseball in the Quad Cities regardless of the level of competition we want them to think of us first.
