Knoxville Noise News Release
The Chicago Rockstars and Knoxville Noise will have some special guest players in their charity basketball game on September 9th at Male High School located at 911 S. Brook St. in Louisville, Kentucky. Platinum recording artist "Nappy Roots" will headline the weekend event for the Boys and Girls Club of Louisville.
The Nappy Roots formed in 1995 around a sextet of students attending Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. Nappy Roots began making music together at a local record shop-cum studio named ET's Music, and released their full-length debut Country Fried Cess in 1998. Drawn to the group's distinctive twist on Southern bounce, the major labels began flocking, and they eventually signed to Atlantic. Their label debut, Watermelon, Chicken and Gritz, was released in 2002, and the follow-up Wooden Leather followed one year later.
Basketball is a passion for Skinny Deville, Ron Clutch, Big V, B Stille, R. Prophet, and Scales. The group have played in many celebrity basketball games throughout the country. Scales is a former standout high school basketball player who received a scholarship to Western Kentucky University. B. Stille will suit up for the Rockstars and Scales will suit up for the Noise. The other members will be in attendance.
This will be the first ABA game played this season. Be sure to check the game live on the Chicago Rockstars and Knoxville Noise websites. The game will be broadcasted by www.audiosportsonline.com.
