Tropics announce first tryout camp

Miami, FL. Team President Art Alvarez has announced that the ABA Miami Tropics basketball team will host an Open Tryout Camp for the 2006-2--7 season on September 9trh and 10th at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.

Saturday's workout will be from 9am-3pm with Sunday's from 12pm-5pm. The fee for the event will be $125 for pre-registered players and $150 for walk-ups on the morning of the tryout. This will be the first of three camps conducted by the Tropics for the purpose of filling their roster.

Players can pre-register by contacting the Tropics at miamitropics2004@yahoo.com or customerservice@galaxyofstarsbasketball.com. All applicants should provide the team with their name, address, contact number, height, weight and experience and will be asked to sign a liability waiver before competing. All fees may be paid by cash or money order.

Barry University is located at 11300 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami Shores.

"We are really looking forward to evaluating the players in the South Florida area. Having been a part of the coaching scene here for a number of years, I know there will be a vast amount of talent from which to choose," said Alvarez, who also expects a high turnout from players throughout the Southeastern USA and the Caribbean.
