August 21, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Miami Tropics News Release
Miami, FL. Art Alvarez, president of the ABA Miami Tropics, has announced the team's intentions to play their home schedule at The Health and Sports Center on the campus of Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.
In addition to the basketball gymnasium, the Health and Sports Center houses a modern weight-training facility and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation and athletic training facility. Its location in Miami Shores, just off I-95, makes it readily accessible to fans in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
The Tropics intend to play all 18 home games at The Center, beginning on November 13th and running through March 5th in its inaugural season. For more information, email miamitropics2004@yahoo.com or visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
