Noise battle Mud Frogs for first

December 9, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Knoxville Noise News Release

The Knoxville Noise will play the Tennessee Mud Frogs tonight at West High School at 7:30 in a battle for first place. The (4-3) Noise currently lead the South Division in the Blue Conference by a half game over then (5-4) Mud Frogs. The Noise lead the current series between the two teams 2-1, the latest game between the teams was a 133-113 Thanksgiving night victory for the Noise.

This has become a heated rivalry with both teams having dislike towards each other, reminiscent of the 1980's battles between the Lakers and Celtics. Noise Coach Gerald Oliver had this to say about the Mud Frogs. "I respect them but I don't like them. They are a good team, but when we play the Mud Frogs it is the type of game that a loss sticks with you for a long time.

The Noise were supposed to play a doubleheader this weekend with the Toledo Ice but the games were postponed and now the Noise will only play Saturday night against the Mud frogs. Knoxville Noise urge their fans to come to West High tonight to support you First Place Noise.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
