Texas Tornado News Release

It was a career night for #16 Sean Heidrick. The Tornado forward from Plano, Texas scored four goals as the Tornado throttled the New Mexico Mustangs in Rio Rancho on Friday by a score of 8-2. The win keeps the Tornado within one point of first place in the NAHL's South Division, and increases their winning streak to a season-high five games in a row.

It didn't take the Tornado long to get on the scoreboard as Marc Biggs opened the scoring with his third goal in as many games. Ten minutes later Heidrick would get his first of the game as he tapped home a back door pass from Tyler Mort on the power play to make it 2-0. Nathan Sliwinski would make it 3-0, as he scored his first goal in a Tornado uniform thanks to a beautiful end-to-end play from linemate Jackson Leef. Heidrick scored his second of the night, again on the power play to make it 4-0 with an assist from Ralfs Freibergs to give the Tornado the big edge heading into the lockerroom.

New Mexico would try to make a game of it with two straight goals early in the second period, both of which game from almost the identical spot along the left wing, which eluded a screened Tornado goaltender Jake Stafford. But, that would be all Stafford and the Tornado would give up as the team allowed just 17 New Mexico shots the entire game. Jack Prince would score on the power play late in the period to make it 5-2 and essentially put the game out of reach.

The 3rd period was all Tornado as they scored three more goals, two more off the stick of Heidrick who could not miss on this night and the other from Prince. Sliwinski, Leef, Prince, Freibergs and Heidrick would all have mutli-point games as the Tornado dominated the shots, 51-17.
