
Pitching Duel Leads Albany Over Black Bears

PITTSFIELD-The Berkshire Black Bears got 7 strong innings out of starting pitcher Dallas Mahan but it wasn't enough as the Albany Colonie Diamond Dogs won the game by a score of 3-1.
Mahan struck out 4, walked 1 and gave up 2 runs, one of the earned. The Black Bears had 6 hits on the game, compared to only 3 for Albany. Reliever Jim Harrison came on in the 8th inning and finished the game allowing 1 run on 2 hits walking 3 and striking out 2. Ryan Smith and Leroy Smith both singled twice, Chris Sawyer singled and Todd Brock had a RBI double.
The Black Bears take on Albany again tomorrow night for the second game of the four game series at 7:05.
