AUBURN HILLS, Mich., February 27 - Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced today that the Detroit Pistons have assigned rookie Amir Johnson to the Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA Development League (D-League).
Johnson, 6-9, 210, was drafted 56th in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Pistons out of Westchester High School (Los Angeles, CA). He played in one game this season, scoring two points and recording one block at Minnesota on January 24.
Eight of the 23 NBA-assigned players are now currently active in the D-League. Johnson is the first player from the Pistons to be assigned to an NBA D-League team.
