
Pirates Sign RB Darius Clark

The Massachusetts Pirates have signed running back Darius Clark for the 2024 season. Clark, who played collegiately at Newberry College in South Carolina, was an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL) in 2021. He also appeared in the preseason with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2022 and was on the roster of the Orlando Guardians of the XFL last season.
Clark, who checks in at 6'2" and 210 lbs., had 30 total yards on 11 touches in preseason games with the Panthers in 2021. He joined Carolina after playing from 2015 through 2018 with the Wolves of Newberry College. His best year at the South Carolina school was his junior season in 2017. That year he ran for 253 yards, scored one touchdown and added 68 receiving yards.
A native of Wadmalaw Island, SC, Clark finished his college career playing in 43 games, rushing 103 times for 384 yards and two scores. He also had 35 receptions for 264 yards and two touchdowns while returning 20 kickoffs for 397 yards. He also threw one pass for a touchdown.
