Pirates Sign Angeli to PTO

Portland, ME - The Portland Pirates today announced the signing of forward Darik Angeli to a Professional Tryout Contract. He joins the Pirates from the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL.

Angeli, a 6-foot-3, 198 pound right wing from Lakewood, Colorado, has played three games with Manchester this season. He has yet to register a point.

The 25 year-old rookie forward took part in the 2015 Portland Pirates Training Camp. He played in both the Pirates preseason games before he joined Manchester. Prior to turning pro, Angeli spent four years with the Ohio State University Buckeyes.

Angeli will join the Pirates in time for their game tomorrow night against the Utica Comets at 7:00 p.m. from the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
