Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
(Wilkes-Barre) The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers have been assigned the sixth member of their 2007 American Conference championship team for the 2008 season, OL/DL Keith Glover.
Head Coach Rich Ingold is happy to have Glover back in the fold for 2008. "Keith is a very athletic 300 pound guy that is very versatile," said Ingold, "Last year he was a big part of our early season success, before suffering a season ending injury."
The 6'2 305 pound Glover was a key part of a great team defensive effort versus the Florida Firecats. The Pioneers went down to Florida and made the high flying Firecats turn the ball over five times on downs and forced another two turnovers in a 58-36 thumping of Florida. Glover recorded two solo tackles and was a disruptive force on the defensive line the whole game. Unfortunately, Glover was also injured for the year that week.
The St Francis grad played both offensive and defensive line for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton over twenty games for the Pioneers during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. The af2 veteran brings a wealth of arenafootball experience to the 2008 roster.
The Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton Pioneers will be kicking off their seventh season in the arenafootball2 league with the af2 opening night game in Quad City on March 28th. Their home opener will be Friday, April 11 versus the Mahoning Valley Thunder. Season tickets for the Pioneers 2008 season are now on sale!
