Elmira Pioneers News Release

The Pioneers are proud to announce that they have already sold out all box-seat season tickets for the 2002 season. The Corning Building Company purchased the last 14 box-seat season tickets this week marking the first time in several years the Pioneers have sold out all 312 box-seats for the season.

"This just goes to show the extraordinary amount of excitement the fans have for the 2002 Pioneers season," said General Manager Patrick McKernan. "The community has responded to our staff's sales efforts by gobbling up these season tickets at a terrific pace! Specifically, we would like to thank the great folks at Corning Building Company for helping us achieve our goal."

"Patrick just arrived in Elmira a few months ago," executive vice-president Steve Ervin said. "But it's clear his vast amount of minor league baseball experience is making an impact on the Pio's. By selling out all of our box-seats in advance we have already significantly enhanced our chances of making 2002 our best season yet."

Pioneers fans still have several other great season ticket packages to choose from including Club Seat ($225), General Admission ($200) and Senior Citizen ($175). Season tickets are good for all 45 regular season games plus the team's exhibition game.

The Pioneers first official practice is Friday, May 10 at 10:00 am. They take the field Friday, May 17 with an exhibition game against the expansion Brockton Rox at 7:05. The regular season opener is Friday, May 24 also against Brockton and will feature a spectacular post-game fireworks extravaganza.
