Elmira Pioneers News Release
The Elmira Pioneers were rained out at the Brockton Rox Friday night in what was supposed to be a huge night for the eastern Massachusetts community. The first home game for Brockton since 1915 was welcomed with several ceremonies, owners and celebrities including part owners comedians Bill Murray and Jimmy Fallon.
Bad weather continues to follow the Pioneers who waited out a 2:06 rain-delay and played until almost midnight in defeating the Berkshire Black Bears 6-2 on Thursday night.
The teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader Saturday night at 6:05. Both games will be 7 innings in duration. Eric Estes and Justin Stine are the probable starters for the Pioneers while Mike Fischer and Chris Hill are slated for the Rox.
The road trip finale is Sunday afternoon at 2:05.
Friday was the first rainout of the season for Elmira and Saturday will be their first doubleheader of the year.
