
Pioneers QB to Return

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce that quarterback Tim Hicks is reassigned to their roster for the upcoming 2005 season.
"We are very excited to have Tim back with us this season," says Pioneers' Head Coach Les Moss. "In my opinion, Hicks was one of the best quarterbacks in the league last season."
"I'm looking forward to working with him more closely this season in a coaching capacity," says Offensive Coordinator Terry Karg. "He had a solid inaugural campaign with the Pioneers and I'm looking forward to see what he can do this season."
In 2004, Hicks had 465 pass attempts with 286 completions, a pass percentage of 61.5. He threw for a total of 3679 yards and 82 touchdowns. Tim also rushed for 54 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hicks and the Pioneers fell one game short of the Arena Cup in their 2004 campaign.
Hicks played for the now defunct Charleston Swamp Foxes in 2003. In 5 games with the Swamp Foxes he had 6 completions in 19 attempts. He threw for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed for 12 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Hicks played his collegiate career with West Liberty State College in West Virginia. He holds several records for the Hill Toppers including career total offense (7,059 yards), single-season total offense (2,635 yards), career passing yards (7,254 yards), season passing yards (2,645 yards), single-game passing yards (405 yards), career touchdown passes (60), season touchdown passes (24), career completions (508), and single-season completions (196).
