
Wolves team up with NEA to celebrate "Read Across America"

MANCHESTER,NH (February 22,2005) The National Education Association has teamed up with the Manchester Wolves to help celebrate their "Read Across America" event.
New Hampshire native and Wolves football star Mike Wells will be appearing with Blitz, the Wolves' mascot, February 23rd at the Senate State House in Concord from 8:30 until 10AM. Wells will be reading and visiting with some of New Hampshire's most prestigious government officials, including Governor John Lynch
Children from all over New Hampshire will gather at the State House in Concord, meet with the local senators and enjoy a story read to them by Wells titled, "T" is for touchdown. Blitz and Wells will also be available to pose for pictures and sign autographs. The senate will participate in various reading activities with the children and Governor Lynch will have a reading with the children as the event comes to a close.
"The children who come to our football games always seem to have a great time," stated Wolves General Manager Angelo Mazzella. Mazzella added, "the Wolves wanted to show our support for education and educators. This was a great event to be a part of and we are honored to have the chance."
The Wolves will continue to promote Read Across America by having Blitz make appearances at the Book Blast event in the Mall of New Hampshire February 26th and throughout selected southern New Hampshire elementary schools from March 8-11.
