
Pioneers Losing Slide Is Five

The Pioneers returned home last night to take on the Newark Pilots hoping to end their four game losing streak but, were tagged with a 14-8 loss. Things looked good early as the Pios jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The Newark Pilots took flight in the second with a 7 run inning. The Pioneers crept back into the game with runs in the second and third. But the Pilots put the game out of reach with three runs in the sixth and another pair of runs in the eighth.
Edwin Reyers picked up the win for Newark, who were led by 4 hits and 5 RBIs lead by second basemen Ray Delvalle.
BJ Willis had a couple of hits and an RBI for Elmira. Justin Lacy chipped in with his league leading 30th RBI.
After a day off today the Pioneers will return to Dunn Field to take on Glens Falls Golden Eagles at of 7:05. The Pioneers will then hit the road for a five game road trip.
