Pioneers First Practice Scheduled for Friday

Pioneers manager Mitch Lyden has announced that the team's first practice will be this Friday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m.

All 30 Pio's players under contract are expected to be on hand competing for the team's 22 available roster positions.

Fans are welcome to attend the practice and catch their first look at the 2002 version of the Pioneers. The workout/tryout session is expected to last from 10:00 - 2:00.

The Pioneers will play an exhibition game against the Brockton Rox on Friday, May 17 at 7:05. Tickets are available at the Dunn Field Box Office and fans can save a dollar per ticket when purchasing their tickets in advance.

The regular season opener, also against the Brockton Rox, is Friday, May 24 at 7:05. A spectacular fireworks extravaganza will follow the game to cap off the exciting opening night festivities.

Fans can listen to complete coverage of the exhibition game and all 90 regular season games, home and away, on the official home of Pioneers baseball, AM-820, WWLZ.
