Pioneers Assigned Two Players from Tryout Camp

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are proud to announce that the af2 league office has assigned Demetrius Austrum and Jasonus Tillery to the team's 2005 roster.

Demetrius Austrum, a 6'1" 245 lb. fullback/line backer, played collegiate football with the University of Buffalo from 2000 -2003. While in Buffalo, Austrum played in a total of 33 games posting 69 tackles (42 unassisted) and 5.5 sacks.

Tillery, a 6'1" 195 lb. wide receiver/defensive back, played this past season at Kean University. In just ten games, Tillery set the single-game record for receiving yards with 10 receptions for 185 yards. He also holds the school's record for single-season receiving yards with 912. He ended his season with 41 receptions and 5 touchdowns.

"Both of these players were very impressive during our last tryout camp. They will be great additions to the team," says Head Coach Les Moss. "It will be exciting to see what kind of talent will be at the next two tryout camps."

The Pioneers will be holding two more free-agent tryouts camps. The tryout dates will be Saturday, February 19th, registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. and tryouts will run from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.; and Saturday, March 5th, registration will begin at 1:00 p.m. and tryouts will run from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Both camps will be held at Riverfront Sports Complex in Scranton, PA.
