Pioneers Assigned QB Mike Gluski

Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce the arenafootball2 league office has assigned quarterback Mike Gluski to the team's 2004 training camp roster.
"We're very happy to have a quarterback of Mike's caliber joining our team," said Pioneers' head coach Les Moss. "He was sought after by a lot of teams around the league, and we got him."
Gluski, regarded as one of the af2's all-time best quarterbacks, spent all of the 2000 af2 season and a portion of the 2001 season with the Quad City Steamwheelers, who won the ArenaCup Championship both years.
"I'm really excited," said Gluski. "Coach Moss is a proven winner, and with his help, I'm looking forward to getting back to my winning ways in the af2. I think we'll win a lot of games with the team he's assembling."
After serving as Quad City's backup, Gluski was traded to the Macon Knights in 2001, where he was 8-2 as a starter. He spent most of the 2002 season as the signal caller for the Cape Fear Wildcats and appeared in five games for the Columbus Wardogs last year before being sidelined by a shoulder injury.
Gluski played college ball at Wayne State from 1995-98. His first professional experience came in 1999 when he was invited to training camp with the now-defunct Milwaukee Mustangs of the parent Arena Football League. He also participated in camp with the AFL's Detroit Fury in 2003.
