Pioneers Add Final Players to Roster

June 8, 2011 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) - Elmira Pioneers News Release

The Elmira Pioneers announced that they are adding two more players to the roster. Jeff Mathers an infielder of Manhattan College and Logan Uxa an outfielder from Arkansas State University.

Jeff Mathers grew up in Elmira, NY where he played at Elmira Free Academy earning himself the All-Southern Tier Athletic Conference Honor. Logan Uxa grew up in St. Louis, MO where he played for LaDue High School. Uxa was named one of the top 25 players in Missouri. This year Uxa averaged 4 homeruns, 48 hits and 21 runs.

The Pioneers open their season Thursday June 9th where they will take on the Cooperstown Hawkeyes. Thursday will kick off the first Thirsty Thursday of the season where all beverages are a $1.00. Make sure to come early to the game to enjoy the pre-game concert and stick around after for the Firework show put on by the City of Elmira.
