Phoenix Rising FC Transfers Eddie Munjoma to Tampa Bay Rowdies

PHOENIX, Arizona - Phoenix Rising FC has transferred defender Eddie Munjoma to Tampa Bay Rowdies for an undisclosed fee, the club announced today.

"Eddie played an important role in our championship winning side," said Rising Head Coach Danny Stone. "I have a lot of respect for Eddie and want to thank him for his contributions to the team during his time at the club. I wish him the best in the next chapter of his career."

Munjoma, 25, signed with Rising on January 13, 2023. The Texas native appeared in 36 regular season matches last season, scoring two goals and adding two assists. Munjoma came on as a substitute in Rising's home opener on March 9, logging three minutes in relief of Jose Hernandez.

Munjoma made his professional debut for North Texas SC on October 7, 2020. He played a total of 15 matches for FC Dallas' former USL League One affiliate in 2020-21, scoring five goals before making his MLS debut for FC Dallas on September 4, 2021. Munjoma appeared in 17 matches for FC Dallas in 2021-22 with one goal and an assist, across all competitions.

Munjoma attended Southern Methodist University from 2016-19. He made 66 appearances, scoring 12 goals and 22 assists. During his time with the Mustangs, Munjoma was named the AAC defensive player of the year and was a 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist.
