The last Soul home game was on July 12, 2008, when the Soul beat the Cleveland Gladiators 70-35 to become National Conference Champions, advancing them to ArenaBowl XXII, where they were crowned World Champions, defeating the San Jose SaberCats 59-56.

"It's great to finally have the opportunity to raise the ArenaBowl XXII Championship banner at home in front of our fans," said Soul Co-Majority Owner, Ron Jaworski. "There's nothing better than football in Philadelphia. It's going to be a special night for everyone on hand."

Food, inflatable games, and entertainment from the band 'Slamm' will be available prior to the game at the Soul Block Party, which will begin at 5 p.m. and continue up until kickoff on the 11th Street side of the Wells Fargo Center. Inside the arena, the Soul will be celebrating their 2008 ArenaBowl XXII victory by unveiling the Championship banner in the rafters of the Wells Fargo Center. The home opener will also be dollar dog night! $1 hot dogs will be sold all night long.

After the game, fans are encouraged to continue the home opening celebration and join the Soul at the official Post Game Party of the Philadelphia Soul, which will be held at Chickie's & Pete's in South Philly, presented by Miller Lite. For those unable to attend the game, the home opener between the Soul and Storm will be played in front of a nationwide audience on NFL Network for the AFL's Friday Night Football.
