Minot Skyrockets News Release

Minot, ND - The Minot Skyrockets announced today that forward Marshall Phillips will be leaving the team to play in Germany. Phillips' contract was bought out by the overseas team, and he will travel to Germany on Wednesday.

Due to the new contract, Phillips will not play in tonight's game but will serve as honorary assistant coach. Phillips has been with the Skyrockets for the entire 2007-08 season and played for the 2008 American Conference All-Star team. Phillips has averaged 10.5 rebounds per game, second in the league. He has also put up 16.5 points per game. Phillips is also 6th in the league in shooting percentage at 59.9%.

"It is important for us to keep this in perspective. Although the timing is poor for the Minot Skyrockets, it is a great opportunity for Marshall Phillips," said Head Coach Chris Daleo. "We push all of our players for overseas jobs. That is what the CBA is all about. We have been working on this deal for the past two weeks, and I'm glad to see it has come fruition."

The Skyrockets now have a roster spot to fill and will be announcing a new player once a contract is in place. For more information, visit the Skyrockets online at www.minotskyrockets.com.
