
Phillies Triple-A Ties Pirates Team, 6-6

The Phillies Triple-A Spring Training squad (2-2-1) tied the Pirates team 6-6 on Tuesday afternoon.
INF/OF Angelo Mora (3-4, 3B, 2 RBI, R) and OF Andrew Pullin (3-4, RBI, R) led the way offensively for the Phillies side with three hits apiece. 1B Brock Stassi (1-2, HR, RBI, R) contributed a solo home run and OF Dylan Cozens (2-4, 2B, R) had a pair of hits for the Phillies team.
Stassi spent the entire 2015 season with Reading (AA) and was named Eastern League MVP after hitting .300-15-90 in 133 G. The University of Nevada product led the EL in RBIs, OPS (.863) and tied for first in 2B (32). Stassi was a 33rd round selection of the Phillies in the 2011 draft.
RHP Vincent Velasquez got the start on the mound for the Phillies squad and allowed two runs on six hits to go along with a walk and five strikeouts in 5.2 IP. LHP Edgar Ibarra (1.0 IP) tossed a scoreless inning in relief.
Velasquez spent the majority of 2015 with the Astros, but also pitched for Corpus Christi (AA). The right-hander was 1-1 with a 4.37 ERA in 19 G (7 GS) with Houston and 4-0 with a 1.91 ERA in 9 G (5 GS) for Corpus Christi.
The Phillies Triple-A Spring Training squad returns to action on Thursday afternoon when they host the Yankees team. First pitch at the Carpenter Complex is slated for 1:00 p.m.
