January 10, 2013 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) welcome Philadelphia 76ers star Spencer Hawes to participate as honorary face-off prior to the team's 2013 Home Opener at Wells Fargo Center on Friday, January 11 at 7 p.m.
Hawes is quite literally one of the Wings biggest fans and has attended several games at Wells Fargo Center since joining the Sixers in 2010. The 7'1" center was a lacrosse standout in high school at the prestigious Seattle Prep in Washington and continues to follow the sport he grew up playing.
"I've really enjoyed going to Wings games over the past few seasons and I love the sport," Hawes said. "I can't wait to see this year's Wings team take on Buffalo and I'm thrilled to be participating in the face-off."
The Wings take on the Buffalo Bandits to open their 27th season of play. Tickets for the Wings home opener and all home games at the Wells Fargo Center are available by calling 215-389-WING or online at www.WINGSLAX.com
