Philadelphia Wings Tied for East Division Lead After 13-10 Win over Buffalo

The Philadelphia Wings (2-1) defeated the Buffalo Bandits, 13-10, at the First Niagara Center in National Lacrosse League (NLL) action this evening. The Wings are now tied for first place in the NLL's East Division with the Bandits with a 2-1 record.

Tied 7-7 at half, the Wings overcame a one-goal deficit entering the fourth quarter with clutch last-period goals from Pat Heim, Dan Daswon, Brendan Mundorf, Brodie Merrill and two from Drew Westervelt, the Wings escaped upstate New York with a 13-10 win.

Leading the way for the Wings were assist-man Dan Dawson who tallied six assists and one goal on the night. Also performing well were Drew Westervelt with 4 goals, his third consecutive hat trick in 2012, and Brendan Mundorf with two goals and four assists.

Brandon Miller also had a solid day in goal for the Wings, limiting the Bandits to 10 goals and tallying 25 saves on the night.

The Bandits were led by a foursome with two goals apiece, including Mark Steenhuis, John Tavares, Luke Wiles and Chad Culp.

The Wings will return to Wells Fargo Center next Saturday, Februay 4 at 7 p.m. vs. the 2011 NLL Champion Toronto Rock.
